Last weekend, Papercute attended the 36th Annual Wichita Asian Festival as a vendor. Admission was free at Century II from 5:30pm - 10:00pm. There were over 50 food and art vendors coming from local vendors and organizations in the Convention Hall and various cultural performances and the pageant took place in the Exhibition Hall.

Set up for the festival opened up at a timely matter. At first glance, we thought all the booths were too close together. We overheard some miscommunication with a neighboring booth and all the booths on our side moved over a few inches to allow a little more space in between. It was quite a challenge to condense all of our products to one booth vs. our usual double booth set up. We managed to fit everything in our space in a sweet boutique inspired set up.

Attendance at the Asian Festival was outstanding. There were a lot of people who were new to the festival as well as those that were veterans. All of us at Papercute tried a lot of the different foods offered at the festival. From Vietnamese spring rolls Japanese tofu pudding. Boba tea, kabobs, curry, crepes, rice, noodles, etc. There was just so much food! The art vendors sold items ranging from ethnic purses and jewelry to the modern adorable stationery, toys, and accessories.

This year's festival, we introduced some new items to our shop! More Amuse plushes and the most adorable puchimaru straps. We replenished our sticker collection and stationery with more adorableness. Our best seller of the night and most exciting feature were our #pholife t shirts. Some more of our newer goods to Asian Festival would be our line of soaps

Last year, it was just the two of us at Papercute. This year, we recruited a family member and Chii of Ichico Comics. We could not have gone through the evening without them. Make sure you all check out Chii's Facebook page! He's a great artist and a straight up (art) hustler! :D And lastly, don't forget to like the Wichita Asian Festival's Facebook page and the Wichita Asian Association Facebook Page. For more Asian related events in Wichita, check out the calendar on the Wichita Asian Association website. We definitely strive to bring out new things and our very best to the Wichita Asian Festival. Thank you so much Wichita for the support!! We'll see everyone again next year~
